are simultaneously released to Brazilian and foreign authorities and to the public
at large. Financial statements follow Brazilian and American generally acecepted
accounting practices. The bank complies with fair disclosure standards for the
release of information and to all requirements of financial and capital markets
regulatory agencies, both domestic and international: Central Bank of Brazil,
CVM (Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission), Federal Reserve Board and
Securities and Exchange Commission.
In order to ensure the independence of its external auditors, Unibanco has
a policy of limiting the services, other than the auditing services rendered
by the external auditor, to an amount of remuneration which is less than 5%
of the amount paid for the independent auditing services.
Unibanco's executives and associates who, by way of their duties, have access
to privileged, relevant and/or confidential information sign a legal document
declaring their full knowledge and acceptance of the Policies for Publication

This practice fulfills the requirements of CVM's Instruction No. 358/02, aimed
at providing investors timely and accurate information essential to their investment
decisions, with equitable and fair disclosure to all market participants.
