| Unibanco offers products and services to individual clients through the sub-segments
Especial, Exclusivo and Uniclass. At the end of 2004, Unibanco's retail area had
a network of 15,938 points-of-sale, including 895 branches and in-store, plus
380 corporate-site branches.
One of 2004's highlights was the Tarifa Zero. It is a simple, innovative, complete
and accessible program, offering progressive discounts in the main fees, allowing
holders of current accounts to save from 25% to 100% in packages and one-off
fees.
The business segment serves companies with up to R$150 million in annual sales
and was expanded in 2004 to attend the needs of companies with annual sales
between R$40 million and R$150 million, previously under the Wholesale banking
umbrella. Business client-base grew 8% in 2004 and the business discount portfolio
rose by 170%.
Cash Management was also recently moved out of Wholesale banking into Retail.
Some 90,000 business clients use Unibanco's cash management services, which
offer simple and efficient processes for accounts payable and receivable. The
financial margin for cash management services totaled R$393 million for the
year. The highlight was the expansion of the correspondent banks platform, which
at year-end had 3,500 service centers throughout the country and had completed
some 13 million transactions.
