Social Responsibility

The notion of social responsibility has been entwined with the bank's activity from the start. It became inseparable from its achievements as a financial institution through over 80 years. As a corporate citizen, Unibanco acts to enrich the communities in which it is present through two institutions that provide it with a wider reach. They are Instituto Unibanco, the conglomerate's social arm and Instituto Moreira Salles, devoted to preserving and disseminating the Brazilian culture.

In addition to its institutional actions, Unibanco adopts deliberate standards of ethics and social responsibility when dealing with clients, shareholders, employees and the community at large. The achievement of these goals starts close to home: Unibanco promotes, especially within its own offices, the daily exercise of citizenship, volunteerism, respect for the environment and a devotion to develop education, rebuffing prejudice in all its forms, which together open the way to overcome the country's enormous challenges.
