Superação Social

The staff itself rolled out this program, to induce volunteer work through actions capable of delivering actual results for beneficent organizations. Most of the bank's staff participated in 2004 projects, which marked the program's fourth year, reaching 46 non-profit organizations devoted to assist the needy. In all, Unibanco's volunteers organized 119 activities focused on education for low-income children and teenagers. They also collected and donated more than 20,000 items - clothing, toys, personal items, books and food. Another 741 volunteers donated blood. Unibanco backed up its volunteers by coming up with support infrastructure and free advertising materials.

Toys and winter campaigns

Every year, Unibanco matches one-to-one donations of toys and winter items donated by the staff. In 2004, Unibanco and its employees gave some 25,000 toys. In the winter campaign, Unibanco matched 23,000 items of clothing with 23,000 blankets.
